Successful Parenting Seminars Promoted Healthy Family Development
New World Club recently organised two educational seminars, providing parents with practical professional advice and effective parent-child communication techniques, helping children build self-discipline habits and face challenges of the new school year. Another seminar deeply explored the early signs of ADHD and parent-child connection techniques, aiming to promote healthy family development.
Unlock the secrets of Parent-Child Communications

As the new school year begins, children often face various emotional and behavioral challenges. This seminar specially invited Dr. Katherine Leung, senior counsellor and university guest lecture, to provide professional guidance for parents through precise parent-child communication techniques, helping children build confidence, successfully integrate into new environments, and establish healthy interpersonal relationships.

The seminar emphasized one key tip for helping children adapt to a new school environment: developing effective time management strategies. These include establishing consistent daily routines, implementing scientifically backed sleep practices—such as managing light exposure before bedtime and limiting screen time—planning nutritionally balanced meals at regular intervals, creating a focused and organized home learning space, and fostering meaningful parent-child interactions. By incorporating these thoughtfully designed strategies, children can build self-discipline while gaining a strong sense of security and predictability in their daily lives.

Nurturing Profound Connections to Enhance ADHD Parent-Child Relationships

Another successful event titled "Understanding ADHD and Unlocking Growth Secrets" drew a full house of parents and educators eager to gain deeper insights into ADHD and effective support strategies for children.
The session emphasized the importance of early identification and timely intervention for children with ADHD. The seminar shared a range of practical strategies to help parents build stronger, more positive connections with their children. These included offering immediate praise to reinforce good behavior and boost children’s sense of accomplishment; giving clear, simple instructions while maintaining eye-level contact to enhance communication; and setting aside 10 to 15 minutes each day for focused, quality time, fully engaging in activities the child enjoys. The seminar also emphasized the value of acknowledging and accepting children’s emotions before guiding them toward problem-solving, as well as managing inappropriate behavior through techniques such as planned ignoring, pausing rewards, and encouraging children to take responsibility for their actions.
