K11 has always been committed to integrating sustainable development elements into its daily operations and actively cooperating with partners to reduce the carbon footprint as a result of business operations to relieve the stress on the environment.
Since April of this year, K11 MUSEA has been collecting plastic waste from tenants and with that, partnered with local social enterprise Vcycle to upcycle plastic into new functional products, such as K11 umbrellas. Vcycle is one of the several startups belonging in the Impact Kommons movement, focused on collecting and upcycling plastic waste as well as alleviating poverty by providing employment opportunities to underprivileged elderlies.
These upcycled umbrellas will be given back to participating merchants, and will be reserved for K11 MUSEA customers to borrow.
Limited edition umbrellas are also available for purchase via the K11 ESHOP. All earnings will be used to fund future K11's upcycling projects.
