New World Hotels & Resorts Restaurant Highlight

New World Millennium Hong Kong - Sagano
Inspired by a famous suburb of Kyoto, Sagano offers an authentic Japanese dining experience in an immersive setting against the backdrop of beautiful Victoria Harbour. Led by Head Chef Masahiko Noka, a Kyoto native, the restaurant showcases a wide range of Japanese specialties. From sushi and tempura to teppanyaki and kaiseiki, Chef Noka uses only the freshest seasonal ingredients flown in directly from Japan every week.

With a wealth of experience, Chef Noka holds a “Japanese Cuisine Professional Chef Certificate” and “Culinary Professional Certificate,” which each require more than 20 years’ culinary experience and the passing of relevant examinations.

Sagano’s core design elements -- bamboo and wood -- give a modern interpretation to traditional simple and elegant Kyoto style. Worthy of special mention is Ranzan, a teppanyaki venue tucked inside Sagano, where diners will enjoy a live cooking show in which teppanyaki master chefs dramatically turn top-quality ingredients into wonderfully satisfying meals. There is also a sushi bar, where chefs interact with guests, as well as six VIP rooms, one of which is a tatami room with traditional reed mats.

Here, dining is no longer just about food but a complete cultural experience.

Minimalism is the key theme at Sagano. Simple and bright, the classic venue offers diners a comfortable ambience and a sense of privacy.

In Sagano since 2005, experienced Chef Masahiko Noka is specialised in kaiseki, especially its stewed dishes, with an emphasis on using in-season Japanese ingredients.

Japanese teppanyaki cookery is taken to the level of performance art at Ranzan. Choose from a menu of Wagyu, Australian beef and seafood for a sizzling meal.

Seasonal ingredients are crucial to Sagano. Enjoy value-for-money lunch and dinner sets that deliver freshness and authenticity.

Considered the epitome of Japanese cuisine, kaiseki is a gastronomic feast for all senses. Expect traditional yet original dishes that change every season.
