The fall season has arrived and the weather in Hong Kong is turning cool and dry, it is time to share some simple yet essential skincare tips for our members to prepare for the upcoming seasons!

Without doubt, the first step of fall season skincare routine for both men and women would be hydration. Recently I have heard various questions, such as “Why do the hydrating masks not as effective as expected?”, “Why my makeup is always patchy?” The major reason is skin cells’ dehydration. During fall, I always remind my clients or models to double up moisturizing procedures, for instance by using highly water-pumping and skin recovering products. Watery hydration serum can be a good choice. The moisture molecules of this type of serum are relatively small and can easily diffuse into the bottom layer of our skin. Putting on lotion or gel-like night cream afterwards can create a protective layer on top of our face such that all moisture is locked up for a longer period.

It is not easy to keep the chic and matte make-up look fresh in this drying season. Therefore, extra foundation steps are more essential. For the fall season this year, I recommend mixing your primer together with your foundation before applying it to your face. It can minimize the pores and even out your skin tone, not to mention adding the shimmering hydrated effect.

Earthy red tone will be the hottest fall color this year and it is relatively low-key comparing to the orangey hits of last season. Nude brownish red and peachy tone are more applicable for Asian’s skin tone in daily or party looks. If you are looking for a brighter look, coral would be a fantastic option as well.
