T.K. CHAN – HONG KONG
Hong Kong-born artist T.K. Chan’s creative oil painting series “Aurora Revelation” is inspired by the mysteriously beautiful but volatile aurora borealis, which can be seen in the north of Scotland. The aurora borealis used to be seen only in the northern hemisphere, but can now be seen in different locations across Europe and the USA, thought to be linked to global warming. The artist has used this series of paintings to bring an awareness of global warming.
The “Aurora Revelation” are circular artworks, which represent the Earth, Sun, Stars and the relationship of human solidarity. Each brushstroke is created using a unique circular motion. These numerous small circles, depicted on a circular canvas, act as metaphors that appeal to everyone to join together to protect our mother earth in harmony.
WESSEL HUISMAN – THE NETHERLANDS
Wessel Huisman is a distinguished Dutch visual artist and photographer. Unlike other modern artists, Huisman has no intention to shock or provoke with his paintings, nor is he a moralist. Instead, he actually takes his audience into full consideration.
Huisman illustrates a respect for his spectators and it is his intention to contribute to their peace of mind. He wonders whether it is still possible – without literally going back to classical techniques and images – to create paintings with the tranquility, the spatial quality and the inner consistency he experiences in the works of Hans Memling, in landscapes by Sisley or Pissaro, or that seen in prints from Japanese artists like Hiroshige.
MARIO GOMEZ – CHILE
Mario Gomez’s artworks are found in notable private collections, including those of the former Chilean President Michelle Bachelet, renowned author Isabel Allende, and many others. His vibrant paintings beckon the viewers to reimagine their own childhood, breathing life and joy. The source of Gomez’s images is often autobiographical and reminiscent of the fantasies of his childhood.
